Forward Deployed Engineer
Who We Are
SuiteSpot is a PropTech company transforming how residential real estate is managed and operated at scale. Our award-winning Maintenance and Capital SaaS solutions serve the top 50 multifamily property management operators in North America, helping them streamline operations across hundreds of thousands of units.
We move fast, ship real solutions, and measure ourselves by customer outcomes. Our engineering team operates with high autonomy and direct customer impact. We live by P.I.E.—Passion, Integrity, and Execution—and look for people who do the same.
The Role
We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work at the intersection of customer problems and technical solutions. You'll partner directly with enterprise customers during implementations and integrations, understand their operational pain points, translate those into technical requirements, and build the solutions yourself.
This isn't a support role. You're an engineer who happens to be close to customers. You'll rotate across implementations, work across our full stack, and drive technical decisions that shape how our platform integrates with property management systems, CRMs, smart locks, and other enterprise software.
You'll report into our engineering organization while working closely with Customer Success and Delivery teams. This is a hybrid role with one day per week in office; customer engagement is remote.
What You'll Do
- Own technical delivery for enterprise customer implementations, from scoping through go-live and beyond
- Build integrations with property management systems (Yardi, RealPage, Entrata), CRMs, access control systems, and other enterprise software
- Translate customer requirements into technical specs and drive them through implementation
- Navigate our codebase across Angular frontends, Node.js/NestJS backends, and MongoDB to diagnose issues and ship fixes
- Partner with product and engineering to feed customer insights back into our platform roadmap
- Handle data migrations and complex technical configurations for new customer onboarding
What You Bring
- Full-stack engineering experience. You're comfortable working across frontend (Angular/TypeScript) and backend (Node.js, Express, NestJS) codebases. You don't need to be an expert in everything, but you can find your way around and ship working code.
- Comfort with large codebases. You can orient yourself quickly in unfamiliar code, trace through complex flows, and make targeted changes without breaking things.
- Customer-facing presence. You can sit on a call with a customer's operations or IT team, understand their workflow, and translate that into a technical solution. You communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.
- Integration experience. You've built or maintained integrations with third-party APIs and understand the realities of working with external systems (rate limits, data quality issues, API versioning).
- Ownership mentality. You take problems from definition through delivery. When something isn't working for a customer, you figure out why and fix it.
- Industry curiosity. You're interested in understanding how property management operations actually work—the workflows, the pain points, the systems. You don't need multifamily experience, but you're eager to learn it.
Nice to Have
- Experience with MongoDB and data modeling
- Background in B2B SaaS or enterprise software implementations
- Familiarity with property management systems or PropTech
- Mobile development experience (Ionic/Capacitor)
What's In It For You
Real impact. You'll work directly with customers who manage hundreds of thousands of apartments. When you solve a problem, you'll see the result in their operations.
Technical breadth. You'll work across our entire stack and touch multiple integration patterns. Every customer brings different technical challenges.
Autonomy. We're a small team that moves fast. You'll own problems end-to-end without layers of process.
Growth path. This role builds deep customer knowledge and cross-functional skills. It can lead to senior engineering roles, solutions architecture, or technical leadership.
We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits starting day one, and flexible remote work.
Hiring Process
- Initial conversation with a Talent Advisor plus a technical assessment
- Technical interview with Engineering leadership
- Final conversation with our CTO
We recognize that not everyone takes the same path when building their skills. If you meet 70% of the qualifications and are excited about solving real problems for real customers, we'd love to hear from you.
SuiteSpot welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities. Should you require accommodations in any part of the interview process, please contact us at [email protected].
